From tailenders to tale beginners

Whats life without a little magic!!

India lost its first ODI of Australia tour, that took place today on a relaxed Sunday morning but thats not the magical part..a defeat is something that team India can manage on their own no magic required there!!

Whosoever has seen the result would feel that gosh! must have been a close match..but the ones who actually managed to catch the match know that thats so not true..

Despite being an Indian fan who finds its extremely painful to be unbiased.. in this match in particular Australia was calling the shots from the moment go..they won the toss..they made an intimidating score of 292 runs and then when India came to bat, we were soon reduced to 45 for 2 in 9th over itself and from there it was pretty much downhill, another painfully long match which just like a cheap mystery novel, revealed the secret somewhere in the middle itself..but hey cricket is a funny game..you might not always end up laughing..but then again thats maybe because you fail to get the joke!

In 39.5 overs India lost its last recognised batsman Ravindra Jadeja, and the score was 201 for 7 but it was way before this that the fans had lost any hope of a revival but then again couldn't help watching the game nonetheless..

It was then that something magical unfolded - a gutsy, brave and heroic partnership between Harbhajan Singh and Praveen Kumar (who by the way had a really bad day while bowling to Australia giving 57 and 77 runs respectively in their alloted 10 overs), I don't know what got into them but they played some awesome shots to send a nervous wave among the Australian camp..and made the tired, bored, and unispired India fan believe that maybe, maybe a miracle was waiting to happen..

India lost the match by 4 runs eventually but not before the audiences got their money's worth, and probably if I can afford to be a little on the dramatic and emotional side (both the qualities are in me in equal quantites) one also realised a very important thing that its not over unless and until its truly over..and that sometimes our opponent will win..not only in the cricket field but also in board rooms, courtrooms or wherever the fight is on..but before they win there is no need for us to lose, to surrender, to give up..because life takes a pleasant turn when you least expect it..so wherever you are.. in a lousy job, in a boring marriage, with thankless and misbehaving children of yours, or just in an overall hopeless life...do your bit just like you punch your PIN in ATM and wait..hang in there..don't give up just yet..If it all boils down to what we believe we might as well believe the best just to be on the sunnier side if not on  the safer side :-)
